***PLEASE ATTACH & SUBMIT A RESUME TO BE CONSIDERED***
Specialty: Neurology
Location: Carrollton, TX
Position Type: Full-Time (36 hours per week)
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM | Friday, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Role Summary
Our Neurology Clinic is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our small team. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a vital role in both the front-office experience and clinical care. This is a long-term position for a professional who can balance administrative tasks with clinical support.
Typical Workflow: In this dual-role capacity, your daily routine will involve managing patient check-ins and verifying insurance, then "rooming" patients to record vitals and medical histories. Throughout the day, you will also manage incoming calls, handle patient referrals, and coordinate the provider's schedule.
While we prefer experienced candidates, we are willing to train the right individual who demonstrates a strong work ethic and a desire to master both the administrative and clinical aspects of a neurology practice. As a family-owned practice, we value stability and are looking for a candidate who wants to grow with us long-term.
Key Responsibilities
1. Administrative & Insurance Specialist
- Insurance Verification: Use the EMR to verify benefits and practice accurate billing.
- Prior Authorizations: Manage the end-to-end processing of authorizations for specialized neurology procedures and specialty medications.
- Front Office Management: Oversee patient check-in and check-out, manage the phone line, and maintain the provider’s schedule.
- Dedicated Admin Time: Utilize a focused administrative block every Friday (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM) to finalize paperwork, referrals, and authorizations.
2. Clinical Support
- Patient Intake: Efficiently room patients, record accurate vital signs, and update medical histories within the EMR.
- Procedure Assistance: Assist the Neurologist during exams and specialized neurological diagnostic procedures.
- Clinical Maintenance: Ensure exam rooms are fully stocked, sanitized, and that all neurological equipment is prepared for daily use.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in medical office administration or clinical support is preferred; however, we will consider entry-level candidates with the right aptitude and a commitment to learning.
- Certification: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) or equivalent clinical experience is required.
- Commitment: We are seeking a dedicated team member looking for a stable career path with a minimum commitment of one year.
- Attributes: Exceptional communication skills, a calm demeanor in a clinical setting, and a "small team" mindset—willing to assist wherever needed to ensure the practice runs smoothly.
