What are the responsibilities and job description for the ACCESS Operator Trainee position at Trinity Metro?
Trinity Metro is currently hiring for ACCESS Operators to safely transport ACCESS passengers on our door to door, paratransit service. The successful candidate will represent Trinity Metro in a positive, customer friendly, respectful, honest, and professional manner.
This positon's responsibilities include:
- Report for duty promptly in proper uniform and physical condition.
- Properly operate ACCESS van on a schedule, from one destination to another within a specified time limit.
- Provide information to passengers in a courteous, efficient manner, use proper etiquette to assist passengers with disabilities.
- Use correct safety procedures to operate the lift and ramp, secure wheelchairs, and other mobility devices when assisting passengers with disabilities.
- Keep ACCESS Van comfortable; Operate ACCESS Van smoothly and safely; conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure safety.
- Collect proper fares, handle passengers in a courteous efficient manner, and be sensitive to their needs.
- Carry out written and oral instructions
- Prepare oral and written reports on traffic accidents, ACCESS van incidents, etc.
- Utilize a navigational system for routing to pick-up and drop-off passengers.
- Read MAPSCO to determine the destination and best route as needed.
- Operate a two-way radio system in accordance with established rules and regulations of Trinity Metro and Federal Communications Commission(FCC)
PAY PROGRESSION
First year - $18.50
Second year - $20.00
Third year - $22.00
Fourth year - $25.00
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Valid driver’s license for at least three (3) years
- No more than 1 moving violation within the last three (3) years
- At least 21 years’ old
- Able to work flexible work schedule Monday – Sunday
- Ability to pass a complete reference, motor vehicle, criminal, and drug and physical background checks
- Bilingual a plus
EXPERIENCE
Retained a driver’s license for the last 3 years.
EDUCATION
High School Graduate or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
