Key Responsibilities
- Instruction & Curriculum
- Develop and implement a comprehensive art curriculum aligned with school standards and Lutheran educational philosophy.
- Teach art to students in grades K–8, incorporating a variety of media, techniques, and art history.
- Foster an environment where students can express creativity while understanding art as a reflection of God’s world and their faith.
- Integrate Christian worldview and Scripture-based principles into lessons where appropriate.
- Classroom Management & Student Engagement
- Create a positive, respectful, and organized classroom environment.
- Encourage collaboration, imagination, and individual artistic growth.
- Assess and document student progress through projects, portfolios, and other assessments.
- School Community & Collaboration
- Coordinate art displays, exhibitions, and student showcases throughout the school year.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to integrate art into cross-curricular projects.
- Participate in faculty meetings, chapel services, school events, and professional development opportunities as requested.
- Faith Integration
- Model Christ-centered behavior and serve as a spiritual role model for students.
- Support the mission and ministry of the school and its LCMS congregation.
- Encourage students to recognize and use their artistic gifts in service to God and others.
