What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian/Maintenance position at Trinity Lutheran Church, School and ECC?
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Custodian to join our team. This position is evening shift for 20 hours a week. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order within our church, school and ECC.
Responsibilities:
a. General cleaning and trash removal in all properties owned by Trinity.
b. Cleaning and stocking of all restrooms in properties owned by Trinity as needed or assigned.
c. Responsible for shutting off all lights and making sure that all doors to the Church and School are locked and secure.
d. Maintenance of boiler system, ventilation system, and other equipment necessary for the operation of Trinity’s facilities or performance of job duties.
e. Provide regular, and as needed maintenance and repairs to lighting and plumbing fixtures in Trinity’s facilities.
f. Care of the exterior of Trinity’s facilities, including lawn care, snow removal, and upkeep of Trinity’s parking lots and sidewalks.
g. Set up and take down chairs, tables, and other equipment as needed for special school, Church, or Early Childcare Center events.
Skills:
1. Good moral character, cooperative, physically fit, good work attitude, and neat in appearance. Able to pass drug screen and police background check.
2. High School graduate or equivalency preferred.
3. Experience in building and maintenance tasks.
4. Knowledge of, or willing to learn, all phases of building systems.
5. Knowledge of asbestos and pesticides; and must be able to work with and become certified.
6. Knowledge of, or willing to learn, materials, compounds and equipment used in maintenance and custodial services.
7. Knowledge of, or willing to learn in building and safety regulations.
8. Knowledge or will train regarding heating systems.
9. Must have manual dexterity and ability to lift forty pounds.
10. Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal history check.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.19 - $15.72 per hour
