Licensed Veterinary Technician (Full-time/Part-time)

We are a woman-owned, growing integrative general practice veterinary clinic located on Johns Island, South Carolina, with unique opportunities for learning new modalities. We use a common sense approuch utilizing traditional and alternative medicine. We are seeking a skilled, responsible, and compassionate Licensed Veterinary Technician for full or part-time hours. You must be willing to work some weekends. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about animal welfare and veterinary medicine.

Qualifications:

• Veterinary experience

• Veterinary technician experience

• Animal care, handling, and restraint

• IV catheterization placement

• Specimen collection and diagnostics

• Surgical prep and monitoring

• Medication administration

• Veterinary critical care experience

• Communication skills

• Management skills

Responsibilities:

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other procedures

• Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and microbiology

• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians

• Prepare animals for surgery, monitor, and record their vital signs during procedures

• Perform dental scaling, cleanings, and dental radiographs

• Provide general and supportive care for patients

• Maintain accurate medical records for all patients

• Clean and sterilize equipment and instruments

• Assist with animal handling and restraint

• Maintain the cleanliness of the clinic

• Educate pet owners on proper animal care and answer their questions or concerns

• Work as part of a team and communicate openly

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of veterinary medicine and animal physiology

• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members

• Experience in animal husbandry
