TrinityRail is hiring a Lead Painter at our Jonesboro plant.

What You’ll Do:
- Prepares coats and finishes metal and/or other surfaces.
- Operates conventional and airless spray equipment to apply industrial paint finishes on metal and other types of surfaces.
- Mixes and applies alkyds, epoxies, gel coats, powder coats, urethane, zinc epoxies and water borne paint systems according to a prescribed formula.
- Adjusts nozzles on spray guns to obtain the proper dispersion of the spray and monitors the flow and viscosity of the paint for solution.
- Proper use of mill gauge and monitors pressure amount.
- Cleans paint lines, paint guns and performs other cleaning preventative maintenance to ensure that painting apparatus remains in working order.
- Regulates the temperature and air circulation in drying ovens.
- May also perform duties of Prep Worker.
- Initiates and maintains all applicable paperwork as required.
- Follows all safety rules and practices.
- May be involved in safety committees or initiatives.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Work with Safety Department to maintain a safe working environment, using 5’s tool as the principle foundation.

- Assist supervisor with product quantity and quality by reporting any problems to supervisor and /or superintendent while working to ensure corrective/preventative actions are implemented and completed.
- Must work with supervisor and superintendent to coach employees in a way that fosters a continuous improvement culture.
- Understanding of all tools, gages, equipment, and other various instruments used to perform blast and interior/exterior paint positions.
- Understanding of blasting and painting specifications including but not limited to SSPC blast cleanliness specifications, millage requirements, etc. Ability to paint as directed by supervisor
- Assign work, and oversees normal production. Ensures that the necessary tools and supplies are available and in good working order
What You’ll Need:

- Understanding of all tools, gages, equipment, and other various instruments used to perform position.
- Two plus years of applicable experience in blast and painting manufacturing background preferred
