What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ultrasound Tech, Breast Specialty position at Trinity Health System?
JOB SUMMARY
Performs diagnostic Ultrasound procedures at a technical level requiring limited supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures utilizing existing standards as a guide. Demonstrates the ability to utilize independent judgment in the completion of routine exams/procedures. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required in conjunction with U.S. Tech III, including specialized U.S. areas such as Interventional Ultrasonographic Special Procedures and Portable Imaging. May be assigned station fill position within other areas of the department. Provides direction to U.S. Tech(s) I. Can and will take "Call Duty" within assigned area as required. Recognizes the purpose of employment is to prioritize the patient as number one, and to put forth the utmost quality as a technologist.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- High school graduate.
- Satisfactory completion of an A.M.A. approved school of Clinical Ultrasound Technology.
- Must be registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or other recognized credentialing body (ex:ARRT) with at least one ultrasound specialty, i.e., Medical (Abdominal, OB/GYN, Ophthalmic Cardiac, Vascular, etc.)
- Must have breast (BR) specialty certification
- Mammography certification welcome but not required
Training and Experience
- Minimum of one year clinical ultrasound experience.
- Must demonstrate the clinical skills necessary to function independently, and to take "Call Duty" within the division.
- BLS provider or obtain within 3 months of hire.
