Saint Francis Hospital a member of Trinity Health of New England is looking for a Department Assistant to join our Maternal Fetal Medicine/OBGYN Ultrasound Department.
The Department Assistant is responsible for providing exceptional professional customer service to all patients and clients of the Department. The Department Assistant is also responsible for maintaining patient flow within the Department.

The Department Assistant is responsible for providing exceptional professional customer service to all patients and clients of the Department. The Department Assistant is also responsible for maintaining patient flow within the Department.
What Will You Do
- Greets and communicates with patients via in-person or phone in a courteous and professional manner identifying themselves and the Department
- Responsible for scheduling appointments, check-in and patient registration
- Prepares patient charts
- Conducts initial patient interviews to obtain Insurance and billing information
- Manages communication to outside and internal physicians’ offices
- Manages all incoming phone calls to ensure that accurate and efficient communication is facilitated and presented in a positive manner.
- Maintains responsibility for general clerical support functions of department to ensure efficient utilization of time.
- Education: High School diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) required. Associate's preferred
- Preferably 1 -2 years' experience in healthcare
- Bilingual English / Spanish Preferred
- Previous skills in utilizing EMRs including EPIC
- Excellent computer abilities.
- Excellent written, oral communication and customer service skills.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to follow written and verbal directions with multiple steps.
- Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently within a team treatment model.
- Ability to manage multiple phone lines simultaneously.
- Full-Time, Monday – Friday
