You would be responsible for ensuring the Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS), Pediatric Life Support (PALS) First Aid, and CPR/AED training provided to hospital staff, and local Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and communities meet all Training Center (TC) criteria as established by the American Heart Association (AHA). Responsibilities include program development and expansion, instructor and student training, serving as primary contact with AHA, record keeping, hiring, payroll processing, ordering supplies, invoicing, maintaining security of exams, issuing course completion cards, quality improvement, and customer service. What You Would Do
- Oversees the AHA Training Center accounts at ATLAS, Training Central, Elearning, and Ebooks, all AHA websites for Training Center management.
- Appoints and manages instructors and Training Sites for the Training Center(s).
- Hires and coordinates the training of new AHA instructors for all disciplinary levels as needed. Ensures instructors are current with information from the AHA. Ensures instructor records are kept up to date at all times.
- Ensures records of training (instructor and student) are correct and maintained as required by the AHA.
- Is responsible for the security and distribution of the AHA provider exams and for the security and distribution of the course completion cards.
- Provides support for the Hospital staff and surrounding community for questions about the AHA programs offered.
- Develops programs to support the Hospital staff and surrounding community needs. Orders and maintains adequate supplies and materials to run quality AHA programs. Requests purchase orders as needed.
- Hires quality instructors to assist in the AHA education programs. Processes payroll as needed for both instructors currently employed by THONE and per diem instructors.
- Creates and manages Training Faculty Positions and Training Sites to facilitate streamlining, proficient, and efficient programs.
- Submits reports to the AHA as required for the Training Center.
- Responsible for data entry into the AHA Mission: Lifeline EMS reporting for heart attacks, strokes and cardiac arrests database and the American Red Cross MyCares registry for out of hospital cardiac arrest reporting database.
- Full time, Day Shifts
- Associate’s degree is required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Background in education, database and personnel management.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an AHA Training Center Coordinator, Training Center Faculty, Training Site Administrator or equivalent experience.
- Current AHA ACLS/PALS/BLS Training Center Faculty certification.
- Current licensure as a Paramedic or RN with at least 5 years of Acute Care Experience. EMS-I certification preferred.
- Knowledge of computer operation is required, along with strong analytical skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), Google Drive, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Proficient in computer and audio-visual presentations from multiple platforms, both live streaming and recording. \
- Strong communication skills required. Demonstrated knowledge of both hospital and hospital affiliated education requirements, the local EMS community and the local public needs.
- Demonstrated ability to keep current with the latest AHA and hospital training programs and bulletins.
