The Nurse Manager is a professional registered nurse responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating the daily operations of the Operating Room. Responsibilities
- Provides leadership and oversight for the daily clinical and operational activities of the Operating Room. Ensuring compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and patient safety standards, including Joint Commission requirements.
- Promotes a culture of quality, patient safety, and service excellence.
- Oversees staffing, scheduling, productivity, and resource utilization to ensure efficient department operations and appropriate patient care coverage.
- Collaborates with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nursing leadership, sterile processing, and ancillary departments to optimize patient flow and surgical outcomes.
- Monitors clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, staff engagement, and operational performance to drive continuous improvement.
- Supports recruitment, onboarding, retention, coaching, and performance management of perioperative staff.
- Facilitates communication through leadership meetings, staff meetings, educational programs, and department-wide initiatives.
- Maintains 24-hour accountability for Operating Room services in collaboration with Surgical Services leadership.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Delaware or eligibility for Delaware licensure.
- BLS certification required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive Operating Room nursing experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in perioperative services required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of perioperative nursing practice, regulatory standards, quality improvement, and performance management.
- Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- CNOR certification preferred.
- $50.49 - $78.29/hour (base salary equivalent)
