- Minimum: High School diploma or equivalent
- Required: Graduate from a sterile processing program
- Preferred: BLS certified
- Minimum: 1 year of experience in Sterile Processing department
- One year of general work experience
- Required: Certification in Central Sterile Processing
- Membership in Central Sterile Processing Professional Organization
- Preferred: Specialized certification such as CIS or CER
