Responsibilities
The Social Services Director leads the Social Services Department in accordance with the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Code of Ethics while ensuring full compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This role promotes a supportive environment that maximizes each resident's individuality, independence, dignity, and quality of life - supporting their highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial wellbeing.
- Supervising Social Services staff and overseeing department operations
- Ensuring high-quality psychosocial practice, resident outcomes, and departmental productivity
- Completing psychosocial assessments that identify resident needs, strengths, and risks
- Establishing discharge goals at admission, coordinating discharge processes, and documenting progress
- Educating staff on the role of Social Services and the psychosocial needs of residents, including aging, disability, grief, and adjustment
Requirements
- Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in West Virginia or higher credential.
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work (BSW) or higher
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
Preferred:
- Experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or geriatric care
- Knowledge of SNF regulations, psychosocial assessment, and discharge planning
- Previous supervisory or department leadership experience
Compensation
Pay is competitive and based on experience, licensure, education, and overall qualifications.
Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
