Hospice Volunteer Coordinator Position Summary

Minimum Qualifications
- Mandatory BA in Healthcare Social Sciences or related field, or comparable experience.
- One year supervisory experience in healthcare, preferably in a Hospice environment.
- Two years work experience with volunteer programs preferred.
- Ability to work in team setting.
- Familiarity with principles related to death and dying.
- Commitment to the philosophy and policies of Hospice care.
- Current motor vehicle driving license.
- Ability to consistently demonstrate commitment to the mission and Organizational Code of Ethics and adhere to the Compliance Program.

- Ensures the appropriate Human Resource programs are supporting and sustaining growth. Programs include recruiting, employing and retaining qualified individuals to maintain staffing levels, staff development, safety, compliance, and employee relations.
- Develops policies and procedures related to the operation of the Volunteer Program.
- Responsible for coordination of Volunteer Training Program and assignment of volunteers into patient care, clerical and community education.
- Ensures all volunteers are screened per organizational policy and procedure.
- Ensures all volunteers are oriented and trained in compliance with CHAP and organizational policies.
- Responsible for coordinating, assigning and assuming office responsibilities as related to volunteer program.
- Works with management to ensure volunteer participation in all aspects of hospice program.
