Float Medical Assistant / Primary – Must-Have Requirements
Pay: Starting at $18.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Job Type: Full-Time
- Healthcare or clinic setting experience required

Float Medical Assistant / Primary – Position Summary
- Provide flexible clinical support across multiple clinic areas
- Assist providers and staff with patient care and daily clinical operations
- Support workflow efficiency in a high-volume medical environment
- Perform both clinical and administrative duties as needed
- Serve as a key support resource for multiple departments within the clinic
Float Medical Assistant / Primary – Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake and rooming processes
- Assist with clinical procedures including catheter changes and exams
- Collect and process urinalysis and other lab testing
- Document patient information accurately in EMR systems
- Communicate with patients and providers regarding care coordination
- Place lab and imaging orders as directed
- Assist with medication prior authorizations
- Support overall clinic flow and patient throughput
- Perform additional administrative and clinical tasks as assigned
Float Medical Assistant / Primary – Additional Qualifications
- Urology experience or familiarity with urologic terminology strongly preferred
- Experience with prior authorizations, lab ordering, and imaging coordination preferred
- Strong EMR experience preferred
- Ability to handle shifting priorities in a fast-paced clinic setting
- Strong teamwork and communication skills

* Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician.
* Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.
* Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.
* Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, or physicians' instructions to patients.
* Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.
* Schedule appointments for patients.
* Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
* Perform general office duties, such as answering telephones, taking dictation, or completing insurance forms.
* Greet and log in patients arriving at office or clinic.
* Perform routine laboratory tests and sample analyses.
* Help physicians examine and treat patients, handing them instruments or materials or performing such tasks as giving injections or removing sutures.
* Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.
* Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
* Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
* Change dressings on wounds.
* Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
* Contact medical facilities or departments to schedule patients for tests or admission.
* Operate x-ray, electrocardiogram (EKG), or other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests.
* Set up medical laboratory equipment.
* Keep financial records or perform other bookkeeping duties, such as handling credit or collections or mailing monthly statements to patients.
* Inventory and order medical, lab, or office supplies or equipment.
