Bilingual Medical Assistant (Temp) – Dunnellon, FL
Pay: $20–$23/hour
Position Overview
- Temporary Medical Assistant role supporting both clinical and front office operations
- Provides direct patient care while assisting providers and ensuring a positive patient experience
- Works in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment
Key Responsibilities
- Room patients, obtain vitals, medical history, and document in EMR
- Assist providers with exams, procedures, and treatments
- Perform clinical duties including injections, phlebotomy, IV support, wound care, and basic diagnostic testing
- Conduct CLIA-waived lab tests and process specimens for send-out labs
- Handle front office tasks such as scheduling, phone calls, and patient check-in/out
- Provide patient education and follow-up communication (appointments, medications, care coordination)
- Maintain cleanliness, sterilization, and inventory of medical supplies
Qualifications
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
- 1 year of Medical Assistant experience preferred
- MA certification (CMA/RMA), CPR, IV, and phlebotomy experience preferred
- Knowledge of EMR systems, medical terminology, and basic clinical procedures
- Strong multitasking, communication, and organizational skills

At least one year of medical assisting experience in a clinical setting
* Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.
* Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician.
* Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
* Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.
* Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, or physicians' instructions to patients.
* Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
* Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.
* Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.
* Perform routine laboratory tests and sample analyses.
* Perform general office duties, such as answering telephones, taking dictation, or completing insurance forms.
* Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
* Change dressings on wounds.
* Schedule appointments for patients.
* Inventory and order medical, lab, or office supplies or equipment.
* Contact medical facilities or departments to schedule patients for tests or admission.
* Set up medical laboratory equipment.
* Operate x-ray, electrocardiogram (EKG), or other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests.
