WHAT DOES THE AUTOMATIC DOOR TECH PROGRAM LOOK LIKE?
Our program begins with 6-12 months in our warehouse. Flex your muscles with freight deliveries, building frames, glazing glass, and preparing materials for upcoming installations.  Take some time to tinker, rebuild gearboxes, test parts, and assemble our custom pivots! Master the basics in tools, our product, and our people here.

Step two of the program is jumping in the installation truck for another 6-12 months to help our tech team install the products you have been mastering in the warehouse.  You have the behind-the-curtain experience, now take it to the streets!  Master time management, more field-related tool techniques, and learn to build door systems and relationships with our customers!

The final step in our program is to enter our 3–6-month apprenticeship to become a full field service door technician.  The stakes get high as do the rewards.  Your brains will burst but great resources are available to support and train you..  Master customer service, technical expertise of our industry, build a long-term career, and grow enough to help add great value to our community of customers and coworkers.

WHAT DOES AN AUTOMATIC DOOR FIELD SERVICE TECH DO?

You made it through the program! So, how does a field service tech spend their days?   A typical day begins at our shop with a caffeine jolt, restocking service vehicles, and assignment of daily service calls. Technicians then travel to 4-6 customer locations within our service area where they troubleshoot, diagnose, and make repairs. This involves selling parts, filling out paperwork to document the superb work being performed, helpfully answering customer questions, providing technical support/customer education, and converting any grumpy customers into happy ones. Additional calls along a route may be added if they come in, so be prepared to call an audible. A day ends by driving directly home from your last call and putting your feet up.  Also we don't just handle the old and broken, but we do shiny new doors too! Our door techs can also have the fun of installing those new door systems.  Variety is the spice of life for an automatic door tech.

THE DEETS:

• This is a full time gig, with 40 hours a week.  Required overtime once fully in the field.
• We pay pretty darn good, and it is performance based.
• We have got that health insurance thing covered.

• We pay you to get lost a week or two out of the year….and on holidays too.
• We give you a set of wheels and duds to get the job done.
• We pass out some hi-tech gadgets for communicating.

THE FINE PRINT:
This position begins with a 30-day trial, followed by an evaluation to determine suitability for permanent position. Requires a confidentiality and non-compete agreement. Starting pay is commensurate with experience: $19-22/hr.  $23 -25 during field training in phases two and three in our program. After apprenticeship pay is based on performance with potential to earn into the $30s/hr. Lots of room to grow at this company if you make a career here!
