Position Summary
The EHS Specialist is an estimated six-month project based assignment where you will be employed by Trinity Consultants based onsite at our premier biotech Client based in Kankakee County, Illinois. The select candidate will be eligible for full benefits including competitive pay, Medical, Dental, holiday pay, and PTO, etc., through the duration of the assignment. The select candidate must be willing to commute to the client site five days per week on average. No relocation assistance is available.
The EHS Specialist provides support to the Environment, Health and Safety team, with primary emphasis on environmental programs and compliance activities across the site. This role is intended for an early to mid-career professional who is highly motivated, organized, eager to learn, and genuinely interested in environmental compliance within a regulated biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Environmental Support
Support site environmental programs, including hazardous waste, wastewater, SPCC, stormwater, and air compliance activities.
Assist environmental leads with inspections, compliance calendars, action tracking, and general regulatory support activities.
Perform environmental sampling and support sample collection, storage, handling, shipment, and documentation.
Assist with environmental data collection, organization, and trending.
Maintain organized environmental files, permits, reports, inspection records, training records, and regulatory documentation.
Support sustainability efforts, including participation in Green Team activities and coordination of related initiatives where needed.
Health and Safety Support
Provide support to the EHS team for routine health and safety activities as needed.
Assist with safety inspections, documentation review, permits, Job Hazard Analyses, risk assessments, and follow-up actions.
Participate in walkthroughs, GEMBAs, and field observations to identify gaps, improvement opportunities, and action items.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
1 to 3 years of experience in EHS, environmental compliance, health and safety, or regulated manufacturing.
Strong interest in environmental compliance and willingness to learn site-specific environmental programs and regulatory requirements.
Practical health and safety experience, including exposure to safety programs, inspections, risk assessments, JHAs, permits, or corrective action follow-up.
General understanding of sample collection, storage, handling, shipment, and chain of custody documentation.
Salary : $33 - $45
