Adjunct Undergraduate Social Work Program

Trinity Washington University Salary: $980/per credit Adjunct Instructor – Undergraduate Social Work Program – Spring 2026 The School of Nursing and Health Professions at Trinity Washington University invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor to teach in the Spring 2026 undergraduate courses in the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for teaching one or more of the following courses, depending on departmental needs and expertise: • Social Work 302 – Research Methods II • Social Work 420 – Practice with Organizations II • Social Work 425 – Generalist Practice with Individuals and Families Adjunct faculty play a vital role in advancing the program’s mission to prepare competent, ethical, and socially responsive generalist social work practitioners. Courses emphasize evidence-informed practice, social justice, professional values, and alignment with CSWE Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS). Essential Responsibilities: • Teach assigned undergraduate social work courses in accordance with approved syllabi and program outcomes • Develop and deliver engaging course content using inclusive, student-centered, and trauma-informed pedagogical approaches • Evaluate student learning through assignments, exams, projects, and other assessments consistent with course objectives • Maintain regular communication with students and hold office hours as appropriate for adjunct faculty • Submit grades and required course documentation in accordance with university and departmental policies • Collaborate with the Dean to ensure consistency with program standards and accreditation requirements Required Qualifications:• Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from a CSWE-accredited program • Minimum of two years of post-MSW professional social work practice experience • Demonstrated expertise relevant to assigned courses (research methods, organizational practice, and/or generalist practice with individuals and families) • Commitment to social work values, including diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice • Ability to teach in face-to-face, hybrid, or online formats, as needed Preferred Qualifications:• Teaching experience at the undergraduate level • Experience with evidence-based or evidence-informed practice • Knowledge of CSWE EPAS and assessment of student learning outcomes • Professional licensure (e.g., LCSW or equivalent), where applicable Appointment and Compensation:This is a part-time, adjunct appointment offered on a per-course, per-semester basis. Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and teaching experience.
