POSITION SUMMARY
The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning and preparing guest rooms, chapel, meeting rooms, common areas and restrooms at Trinity Retreat Center, including vacuuming, garbage, stripping beds, cleaning dining room, and dusting. Ensure that rooms are ready for visiting guests, including set-up to welcome guests and for programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Thoroughly clean rooms, common areas, meeting rooms, chapel, dining room and bathrooms. Use required cleaning solutions to disinfect and clean all areas. Make sure that all surfaces are free of stains, mold, and mildew.
- Ready rooms for incoming visitors, including fresh linens on beds, towels in bathrooms and stock bathrooms and kitchens with necessary paper goods (toilet tissues, paper towels and Kleenex).
- Empty wastebaskets and take out trash.
- Check and maintain bathroom supplies, including sopa and shampoo.
- Periodically thoroughly clean upholstered furniture, windows and drapes.
- Keep window treatments clean and free of dust.
- Restock needed cleaning supplies and paper goods.
- Check that all light fixtures are in good working order. Replace light bulbs as needed.
- Assist directors and retreat leaders with setup for programs and retreats.
- Periodically turn mattresses, and check that bedding and sitting room cushions and pillows are properly clean and in good repair.
- Assume other related responsibilities as required.
- Adhere to confidentiality rules and all other Trinity Wall Street policies, procedures, and rules.
- Perform all duties in a manner that promote Trinity’s mission and core values.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Know, care and maintenance of linens and washables
- Basic sewing skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Physically able to operate cleaning equipment such as: vacuum cleaners, brooms, spray bottles
- Not allergic to cleaning supplies
- Must be able to understand and follow instructions.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Detail-oriented and flexible
- Able to work various schedules and shifts as needed including weekends and holidays.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work closely with colleagues in completing routine and special assignments
