Responsibilities
- Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages active participation, creativity, and respect among students.
- Manage daily classroom activities, ensuring smooth transitions and adherence to schedules while maintaining high standards of behavior management.
- Assess student progress through observations, standardized testing, and formative assessments; adjust lesson plans accordingly to meet individual needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support children's development in areas such as childhood development, early intervention, and child welfare.
- Incorporate special education strategies and early intervention techniques to support children with unique learning requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress reports, and behavioral notes; prepare documentation for parent-teacher conferences.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to classroom experience, childcare best practices, and early childhood education trends.
- Promote a safe, inclusive environment that respects cultural diversity and fosters positive social interactions among students.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings is preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in VALLS/VKRP is a plus, but willing to train the right candidate
- Proven ability to manage behavior effectively while maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and tutoring techniques for young learners.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in early childhood education is required.
- Previous private school or daycare experience will be considered an asset.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
