What You'll Do
- Responsible for ensuring the safety, happiness, and well-being of assigned children at all times.
- Classroom maintenance, including the care of equipment, room safety checks, and overall appearance of the classroom.
- Plan and implement lesson plans, communicate with parents, and provide positive feedback.
- Provide meals and snacks to children, engage in conversation, and promote socialization.
- Ensure clean and safe feeding and play areas, and promote feelings of self-esteem in children.
- Promote feelings of comradery with coworkers, and be aware of normal stages and phases of development in early childhood.
- Implement developmentally appropriate activities, and provide regular diaper changing, hand washing, and other essential care.
- Communicate with families throughout the day, and provide breaks to other classroom teachers as directed.
- Assist in laundry and kitchen duties, and handle discipline promptly and in accordance with center policies.
Requirements
- First Aid and CPR
- Additional Training as prescribed by administration.
- 30 hours of in-service per year.
- 45 hours of mandated DCF training completed within the first year.
