Position Overview
The Middle School Math Long-Term Substitute at Trinity Catholic Academy in Brockton, MA will provide instruction in mathematics for students in Grades 6, 7, and 8 during an extended teacher absence. The ideal candidate will create a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment while maintaining continuity with the school’s mathematics curriculum and Catholic mission.
Responsibilities
* Teach mathematics lessons to students in Grades 6, 7, and 8 in accordance with established curriculum and learning objectives.
* Establish and maintain a respectful, orderly, and engaging classroom environment.
* Differentiate instruction to support students with varying academic abilities and learning styles.
* Assess student understanding through classwork, homework, quizzes, tests, and other appropriate assessments.
* Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.
* Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and student records as required.
* Communicate appropriately with parents/guardians, faculty, and school administration regarding student progress and concerns.
* Collaborate with other middle school teachers to support student learning and consistency across grade levels.
* Reinforce the school’s behavioral expectations and Catholic values throughout the school day.
* Serve as a positive role model who reflects the mission and values of a Catholic school.
* Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, prayer, and other school activities as appropriate.
* Maintain a safe, welcoming, and faith-filled classroom environment.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree required
* Ability to work effectively with adolescents and support diverse learning needs.
