Trinity Industries is searching for a talented leader to fill the open position of Program Manager in our Dallas, Texas office!  
This exciting role will provide program management to medium-sized programs of moderate complexity for enterprise-wide improvement and optimization initiatives as part of the defined portfolio of work. Outlines program requirements, dependencies, risks, and resources to comprehensively address all components needed for a successful implementation. Manages and provides support on programs facilitating activities of cross-functional teams to ensure specifications, timelines, and objectives are met. Provides appropriate project management processes, methods, techniques, and tools and can elaborate and implement these according to the project’s requirements. Effectively implements change management processes, supports process owner and operational staff, and delivers communication to all relevant stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under general direction, initiates programs by clearly defining program objectives, scope, stakeholders, and benefits associated with major business changes and initiatives. 
  • Conducts detailed planning by creating program structure and plan and securing cross-functional support and buy-in.
  • Develops and owns program plans and ensures key milestones are identified and communicated to key stakeholders. Works with various business leaders and representatives to ensure delivery of key project milestones on time and within budget, resources, and policy. 
  • Creates risk mitigation plans and consistently assesses the programs for emerging program risks or concerns. 
  • Meets with stakeholders to make communication easy and transparent regarding project issues and decisions. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in their own area of expertise. 
  • Implements and manages changes and interventions to ensure program goals and project goals within the program are achieved. 
  • Clearly and concisely presents and communicates key data to colleagues and other stakeholders in a timely and consistent manner throughout its life cycle. 
  • Develop and manage a regular program reporting mechanism for the team and relevant business leaders. 
  • Tracks and monitors progress and escalates business risks where appropriate. Recommends the application of principles to plan, develop, facilitate, and implement process improvement and optimization initiatives. 
  • Interface with activities related to developing the current and future state process and performance utilizing data analysis for assessing root causes, issues with the process, stakeholder support needed, and gap identification. 
  • Identifies appropriate metrics to assess baseline, demonstrate the impact of the initial scoping and valuation of improvement work, and monitor progress toward improvement goals. 
  • Develop program management timeline-driven planning tools, that highlight any risks for the triple constraint model. Ability to construct proof of concepts that produce meaningful data and results for interpretation, which can be leveraged for future project phasing. 
  • Interface with activities related to developing the current and future state process and performance utilizing data analysis for assessing root causes, issues with the process, stakeholder support needed, and gap identification. 
  • Participate in regular check-in meetings and toll-gate reviews to ensure progress and alignment of stakeholders, goals, scope, solutions, and timelines. Identifies the impact technical changes will have across the business unit and business segments and periodically consults with project leadership for needed alignment and/or interventions. 
  • Oversee multiple projects assigned by our IT Leadership team, ensuring alignment with organization goals and applying governance framework to manage resources and risks 

     

     

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Advanced Degree preferred.
  • 8 years related experience
  • PMI Project Management Profession (PMP) certification is preferred.
  • Agile Project Management experience (SAFE, Scrum, Kanban, etc.) recommended.
  • Experience with Project Portfolio Management Project Prioritization or Governance and functioning within a formal Project Management Office
  • Experience with PPM tools to support planning and execution of projects.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Proven track record of using PMI best practices in managing projects of all sizes and complexity.
  • Proficient at drafting presentations and data-driven reports.
  • Experience facilitating large meetings, webinars, and educational seminars with local and/ or remote participants. 
  • Solid analytic and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and clients simultaneously.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and strategic directions.
