Job Description Summary:
In this role, the Material Handler performs shop order-picking away activities associates with an assigned area of the warehouse.
Utilizes the ERP system (BPCS/LX) to perform inventory transactions and inquiries, including the use of mobile bar code devices
Optimizes storage locations based on part velocity and volume policies
- Acts as back-up for multiple areas when required
- Operates mobile equipment, such as forklifts, man-lifts, pallet jacks, to move material
- Assures that material counts are accurately reflected in the system and material is stored according to defined policies and procedures
- Operates material handling equipment (forklift, order pickers, pallet jacks)
- Able to identify part types and methods of storage associated with assigned area
- Performs put-away and picking functions utilizing BPCS bar code devices
- Maintains accurate stock counts, locations and product IDs in assigned areas
- Rearrange material as directed for optimization
- Initiates and maintains all applicable paperwork as required
- Follows all safety rules and practices
- May be involved in safety committees or initiatives
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum six months’ forklift operating experience
- Minimum six months’ experience working in team environment
- Minimum six months’ data entry experience
- Experience in warehousing activities requiring high level of precision and productivity
