Position Summary
This position will be responsible for developing transformative mentoring relationships with youth in the justice system. Credible Messenger Mentoring for youth in the juvenile justice system is a transformative process through which individuals from similar backgrounds, especially men and women who were themselves justice-involved, engage youth in structured and intentional relationships that help them change their attitudes, beliefs, and actions. The position is with our PATH program (Participants Achieve Through Hard Work).
Key Responsibilities
- Mentor youth involved with the justice system, carrying a caseload of up to six youth.
- Conduct individual outreach and relationship development with each youth, having contact with each youth multiple times per week, at least one of those contacts being face to face.
- Model a lifestyle of sustained transformation.
- Advocate and support youth as they interact with justice systems, education, employment, health, and social service systems.
- Connect youth with community resources and local employers.
- Facilitate positive youth development and mentoring to each youth.
- Collaborate with Probation and Parsons PATH staff regarding the needs of each youth.
- Attend all PATH Providers Meetings, as scheduled by Parsons PATH staff.
- Implement the Work Based Learning program aspect of the PATH program each week, by submitting WBL forms to Credible Messenger Supervisor by due date each week.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Preferred skills
- EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- HS diploma or GED preferred and
- One to two years of demonstrated successful "lived experience" within the Justice System.
- Valid driver's license, insurance, and good and access.
- Consistent access to reliable vehicle will be needed.

Salary - $24.35 per hour (40 Hours Per Week)
At the start of your first full month of employment and you'll immediately start accruing sick days and vacation time (3 months waiting period for vacation) the moment your employment begins. We are devoted to you and all our employees.
