Job Title: Administrative Clerk - Petroleum & Grain
Job Summary
The administrative clerk is responsible for providing customer service, processing petroleum and merchandise sales, maintaining inventory, and ensuring the fueling station remains clean, safe, and well-stocked. The clerk serves as the primary point of contact for customers and helps ensure efficient daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, professional customer service both in person and over the phone.
- Process fuel, propane, and other billing transactions accurately.
- Operate cash registers, point of sale systems, and handle cash, credit, and debit payments.
- Balance daily deposits and cash drawer.
- Responsible for grain accounting including verifying tickets, generating settlements, and writing checks.
- Monitor fuel pumps and assist customers when needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of the office, restrooms, fuel pump areas, and parking lot.
- Receive and organize deliveries and inventory shipments.
- Perform inventory counts and reconcile shortages.
- Follow safety procedures related to fuel handling and hazardous materials.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); accounting software experience preferred
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a professional, courteous, and polished demeanor in public-facing interactions
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
