Job Title: Feed Billing & Grain Scale Clerk
Job Summary
The Feed Billing & Scale Clerk is responsible for accurate feed billing and operating the grain scale during peak periods such as harvest, and shipping activities throughout the year. This position ensures grain transactions are recorded accurately, shipments are processed efficiently, and customers and drivers receive professional, timely service.
Key Responsibilities
- Bill feed sales and ensure invoices and customer accounts are accurate.
- Process grain settlements, including verifying tickets, contracts, and pricing.
- Prepare grain settlement documentation and related payments.
- Operate the grain scale during peak periods, including harvest.
- Communicate with farmers, customers, truck drivers, and grain personnel regarding billing, settlements, shipments, and load information.
- Research and resolve discrepancies related to feed billing, grain tickets, weights, settlements, and shipments.
- Provide friendly, professional customer service in person and over the phone.
- Follow company safety procedures and grain-handling requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the feed and grain departments.
- Process account payments and inquiries.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, particularly during harvest.
- Ability to communicate professionally with customers, truck drivers, and coworkers.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.
