Senior Tax Accountants are given more complex accounting, tax, and attestation assignments and have often begun to hone specific preferences for specialties. They are on a manager track and have gained the experience for more advanced decision making and engage on higher level client matters. WHAT IS THE JOB?
· Prepares increasingly complex tax returns and schedules.
· Prepares tax planning engagements and identifies tax planning opportunities.
· Research technical issues for clients and the company and participates in technical discussions.
· Conducts assigned attestation and review procedures and begins to coordinate and/or supervise some phases of attestation engagements.
· Assists in reviewing financial statements, account reconciliations and other documents prepared by Staff Accountants.
· Develops effective client relationships, establishes client expectations, and monitors time budgets and deadlines.
WHAT DO I NEED?
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. Master’s in Accounting or Taxation a plus.
· Minimum 2 years recent Public Accounting/CPA firm experience is required.
· Income Tax preparation for individuals and businesses is required.
· CPA or CPA eligible and making meaningful progress toward certification.
· Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
· Ability to develop proficiency in relevant technology including UltraTax CS, Caseware, QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite, and other software utilized by the company.
· Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with the engagement team, strong time management skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication.
