Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Assistant Professor in the Master of Physician Assistant (PA) Studies program located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Assistant Professor will be responsible for instructing and mentoring students in the PA program, designing and delivering engaging course content, and conducting assessments to evaluate student progress. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with colleagues to develop curriculum, contributing to research initiatives, participating in university committees, and remaining current in advancements within the physician assistant field to ensure excellence in teaching. Qualifications
- Expertise in medical education, curriculum development, and classroom instruction for graduate-level Physician Assistant programs
- Strong abilities in clinical reasoning, assessment, and mentorship skills to effectively guide student learning
- Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to work with diverse faculty, students, and healthcare partners
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining current clinical and educational knowledge
- Master’s degree as a Physician Assistant, or MD/DO degree, with current certification and licensure as a PA, MD, or DO
- Two years or more of clinical experience in a healthcare setting
- Previous teaching or educational experience, especially in a PA or related health profession program, is preferred
- Proven ability to foster an inclusive, collaborative, and supportive learning environment
