Under daily input from Management to handle shipment activities including but not limited to; coordination with brokers, cross-dockers, over-the-road, intermodal, boxcar and overseas carriers, providing high level customer service, and support to Distribution and Supply Chain Management.

Job Summary

- Notify and schedule appointments with carriers to pick up orders to insure timely delivery
- Analyze shipments to maximize shipping efficiency
- Maintain communication with broker carriers for equipment availability
- Provide high level customer service with distributors and various departments internally and externally (Supply Chain, Customer Service, Distribution and Production) in order to add high value to TFE customers.
- Update and maintain domestic and Export broker carrier contact information
- Relieve/backup Traffic Customer Service personnel (check-in/out) as necessary
- Responsible for understanding the Food Safety and Quality Management System and related activities.
- Handle requests and inquiries from sales staff and distributors
- Work with TFE 3rd party partners to procure freight for transfers among customers
- Participate (if needed) in annual Physical inventory as directed by the Distribution Manager
- Generate miscellaneous reports as required
- Assist with other Traffic Department activities such as: Safety committee meetings, town halls, and operation meetings.
- Education: High School Diploma required, AA or Logistician preferred
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Traffic Customer Service with above average job performances or previous logistics and transportation experience and inventory control.
- Ability to accurately enter data
- Previous experience with SAP systems or equivalent with experience in Sales and Distribution, Outlook, Microsoft Teams and Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to follow detailed instructions
- Excellent and accurate organizational and follow-up skills
- Ability to multitask in handling multiple tasks at one time
- Ability to interact effectively with team members and channel communication and activities between truck drivers and warehouse operations
- Bilingual preferred
- Office environment

- May be required to work at any of TFE's location or from Home
- Frequent deadline pressures
- Numerous projects in progress at any given time
- May be required to work some overtime hours
