Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across various areas such as offices, hallways, restrooms, and common spaces.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and vacuums to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Handle chemical agents safely by following proper chemical handling safety procedures and using appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling tasks in accordance with safe lifting practices to move furniture, supplies, or equipment.
- Maintain sanitation standards by disinfecting surfaces in high-touch areas like door handles, switches, and restroom fixtures.
- Support facilities maintenance activities including minor repairs, painting touch-ups, and reporting larger issues to appropriate personnel.
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all custodial activities to ensure a secure environment for everyone on site.
Qualifications
- Proven custodial or janitorial experience in commercial or industrial settings.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation procedures, and the proper use of cleaning equipment.
- Experience with chemical agent handling safety procedures and understanding of chemical safety data sheets (SDS).
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following safe lifting practices.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple cleaning tasks efficiently.
- Customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors when needed.
- Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or residential painting is a plus.
