Job Summary
Trimpe Middle School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to lead our 7th Grade Football program as Head Coach. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing student-athletes both on and off the field, fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for the game. This role requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to student development, and the ability to create a positive and inclusive environment for all players.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement a comprehensive training program for the 7th Grade Football team, focusing on skill development, physical fitness, and game strategy.
- Conduct regular practices, ensuring that all players receive instruction tailored to their skill levels and positions.
- Organize and oversee all aspects of the football program, including scheduling games, coordinating transportation, and managing equipment.
- Foster a culture of respect, teamwork, and sportsmanship among players, coaches, and parents.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administration regarding team expectations, schedules, and player progress.
- Monitor the academic performance of student-athletes and support their overall development as students and athletes.
- Collaborate with other coaches and school staff to promote the football program and enhance the overall athletic experience at Trimpe Middle School.
- Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback to help athletes improve their skills and understanding of the game.
Requirements
- Previous coaching experience, particularly at the middle school or high school level, is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of football fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate practice and game schedules.
- First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain certification prior to the start of the season.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all student-athletes.
- Successful completion of background checks and compliance with school district policies.
