About TrimLawn Organics

TrimLawn Organics is a veteran-owned, mission-driven lawn care and landscaping company focused on organic practices, professionalism, and long-term client relationships. We serve residential and commercial clients who value reliability, communication, and results. Our work is physical, outdoors, and detail-oriented—and our standards are high.

This role is for someone who wants responsibility, not just a paycheck.

Position Overview

The Team Leader is responsible for leading daily field operations, ensuring work is completed to TrimLawn Organics standards, and solving most routine problems independently once trained. This role requires strong ownership, emotional maturity, and the ability to lead by example.

The Team Leader is trusted to represent the company with clients, manage the crew day-to-day, and keep jobs moving efficiently without constant oversight.

Key Responsibilities

Field Leadership & Quality Control
  • Lead daily lawn care and landscaping operations
  • Ensure all work meets TrimLawn Organics quality and safety standards
  • Train and guide crew members on proper techniques and expectations
  • Inspect completed work and correct issues immediately

Ownership & Problem Solving
  • Take responsibility for mistakes and fix them without excuses
  • Solve minor equipment, scheduling, and client issues independently
  • Communicate clearly with the owner when issues exceed authority
  • Make decisions in the field that protect the company’s reputation
Client Interaction
  • Represent TrimLawn Organics professionally at all times
  • Communicate calmly and respectfully with clients—even in challenging situations
  • Handle “non-standard” or “difficult” clients without complaining or blaming
  • Escalate issues appropriately, not emotionally
Professional Standards
  • Maintain a professional, solution-focused attitude on the job
  • Communicate challenges constructively and with the intent to solve them
  • Wear the proper uniform daily and help uphold appearance standards across the crew
  • Follow assigned schedules and routes and communicate proactively if adjustments are needed
  • Maintain clean trucks, trailers, and equipment
  • Model punctuality, consistency, and respect for teammates and clients
Required Traits (Non-Negotiable)

This role is not for everyone. The right person must demonstrate:

  • Ownership mindset – takes responsibility instead of making excuses
  • Emotional control – accepts feedback without defensiveness or outbursts
  • Reliability – shows up on time, every day, ready to work
  • Accountability – understands that results are a product of actions
  • Coachability – open to correction and continuous improvement
  • Professionalism – no complaining about weather, clients, or workload
  • Integrity – does the right thing even when no one is watching

This role is best suited for someone who believes their actions, decisions, and mindset directly shape outcomes at work.

Skills & Experience
  • Prior experience in lawn care, landscaping, construction, or outdoor work preferred
  • Ability to operate commercial lawn equipment (or willingness to learn)
  • Basic mechanical awareness (minor equipment issues, maintenance checks)
  • Leadership experience is a plus but not required for the right candidate
What Success Looks Like (90-Day Mark)
  • Can run a full day of jobs without owner intervention
  • Handles minor problems calmly and effectively
  • Crew respects your leadership and follows your direction
  • Clients experience consistent, professional service
  • Standards are enforced without conflict or excuses
Compensation, Support & Growth
  • Competitive pay based on experience and performance
  • Consistent hours during the active season
  • Training provided so you are set up to succeed before being expected to lead independently
  • A leadership team that believes in taking care of its crew—clear expectations, fair treatment, and support when challenges arise
  • Opportunity for increased responsibility and compensation as TrimLawn Organics expands
Final Note

This position requires maturity, humility, and pride in doing things the right way. We are building something long-term and are looking for leaders who take initiative, follow through, and contribute positively to the team culture.

If that resonates with you, we want to talk.
