JOB OVERVIEW:

The National Accounts Manager is responsible for developing, negotiating, and managing strategic national account partnerships that advance market access, drive sales growth, and support long-term business objectives. This role builds strong relationships with key opinion leaders, develops customer-specific value strategies, and ensures successful execution of pricing and contract agreements across the organization. The National Accounts Manager collaborates closely with Sales Leadership, Finance, Marketing, and Legal to ensure alignment and profitable growth.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, negotiate, and manage national account contracts throughout the full lifecycle, including initiation, drafting, execution, renewal, and termination.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders to drive long-term partnership and sales growth.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to expand national account presence, maximize sales performance, and enhance market access.
  • Partner closely with senior leadership to evaluate business conditions and align contract and pricing strategies with overall commercial objectives.
  • Provide guidance and serve as a resource to sales leadership to support pricing discipline, value communication, and negotiation effectiveness.
  • Ensure contract terms comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, as well as internal company policies and financial requirements.
  • Manage pricing and contract performance, including tracking, reporting, and implementing adjustments when necessary to ensure profitability and compliance.
  • Coordinate strategic messaging and collaboration across internal cross-functional stakeholders to support successful implementation of national account agreements.
  • Monitor customer goals, needs, and operational constraints to identify new opportunities and deliver meaningful healthcare solutions.
  • Prepare regular reports, analytics, and market insights to inform strategic decisions for sales leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Represent the company professionally at client meetings, educational programs, trade shows, industry events, and other related market-facing events.
  • Support continuous improvement of contracting and market strategy processes to strengthen competitive positioning.


SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Proficient in contract management platforms and business systems, including Excel, Salesforce, and QuickBooks.
  • Skilled in negotiating complex pricing and contract terms.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

Typically 5 to 7 or more years of increasing responsibility in terms of any applicable professional experience.


PREFERRED EDUCATION:

Typically a Bachelor’s Degree or global equivalent in related discipline. Master’s degree or global equivalent a plus. May hold one or more industry certifications; professional certification may be

required to advance.

RAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Travel typically 50% or more. No special physical demands required.


SCOPE:

Senior level professional; knowledge and full understanding of one or more disciplines and good

knowledge of organization, processes and customers. Good judgment, strong analytical ability,

evaluation, originality and ingenuity required to perform tasks. Know and apply the fundamental

concepts, practices, and procedures of a particular field. Resolve issues and assignments in creative

ways. Some assignments may be broad in nature. May serve as a resource to others to resolve complex

problems and issues. May take on project co-lead role as required.


COMPLEXITY:

Work on problems of diverse scope and moderate impact where analysis of data requires a review of a

variety of factors. Use best practices and knowledge of business strategy to solve complex problems;

recommend solutions to business challenges. Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and

techniques for obtaining solutions. Network with senior internal and external personnel in own area of

expertise.


SUPERVISION:

Receive minimal instruction on day-to-day work and general instruction on new projects or

assignments. May act as a resource to provide informal guidance for TSMs with less experience.

Assignments can be broad in nature.


PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Typically, to advance to a new job level, TSMs must demonstrate professional behavior and should consistently be at the high-end of meets expectations or consistently exceed expectations.
