The Manufacturing Engineering Manager (MEM) is responsible to oversee robust process development for the production of new and existing components. This oversight also includes the design and fabrication of fixturing, gauging, and tooling used on the production floor to produce a high-quality, cost-effective product, efficiently and productively. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is accountable for ensuring the accurate and timely completion of process plans used to generate cost estimates for product quotations for components or finished goods that will be internally manufactured.
The incumbent will ensure that APQP process is followed, project timelines are met, appropriate process documentation is up to date and accurate and, that her/his direct reports have been trained and comprehend TriMark Corporation’s APQP methodology and requirements.

This position reports to the Director of Operations as does the Manufacturing Support Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Tooling Manager, Assembly Coach, Automation Manager and Maintenance & Facilities Engineer, TMM Supervisor, and TMQ Manager.

Sr. Manufacturing Engineer (1) This position is accountable for new process development for the production of stamped component products; overseeing the design and fabrication of stamping tooling; justification for the purchase of equipment to produce a quality and cost-effective product. This position is also responsible for Continuous Improvement within the areas of responsibility and includes identifying, chartering, participating in and helping control the Continuous Improvement activities at TriMark Corporation.
Manufacturing Engineer ( /- 5) This position is accountable for process development and improvement for the production of new and existing products; design and fabrication of test fixtures; designs, develops and/or purchases equipment to produce quality and cost-effective product. This position is accountable for design, redesign, layout and engineering of tooling, equipment, and machinery; to monitor the completion schedules of projects of product application or design; and for accurate cost estimates of product quotation requests. This position is accountable for trouble shooting of all machinery to produce quality product in a cost-effective manner. This position is also responsible for Continuous Improvement within the areas of responsibility.
Manufacturing Engineering Technician ( /- 2) The position helps maintain drawings, establishes and executes Pilot Run Requests, participates in routing development, and helps create new part programs for CNC equipment.
The incumbent must be knowledgeable and experienced with APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow, material strength, manufacturing processes, OSHA standards, electrical/pneumatic controls, fluid power, cost justification, and management skills. The incumbent must be creative in the design and manufacturing engineering field and must have expertise in industrial engineering.
The position participates in proposals for capital expenditures. During the research, investigation, and justification process to purchase a piece of equipment, the incumbent along with the Maintenance & Facilities Engineer, EH&S Manager, and Manufacturing Manager studies existing operations and then establishes a plan, budget, schedule, and proposal on how to accommodate the new equipment while maintaining a smooth flow of materials.
The incumbent maintains a close relationship with TriMark’s internal Maintenance personnel, various outside vendors and suppliers who sell or install manufacturing equipment. When a project is approved, the incumbent develops complete drawings, specifications, and layouts. The MEM works with the Director of Operations to ensure that projects align with TriMark’s manufacturing strategies and objectives .
The incumbent is responsible for overseeing proper methods of efficient manufacturing, including time studies and evaluation of existing processes to ensure that standards are maintained.
The incumbent assists/provides guidance to product design teams to ensure efficient and cost-effective manufacturability of products. Process design and development must include robust, zero-defect methods. The position has oversight of costing new and existing processes. In conjunction with the Manufacturing Manager, Tooling Manager, and Director of Operations, the position oversees the justification of new tooling and new technology in TriMark’s manufacturing areas. The incumbent must also ensure the maintenance of all new and existing prints of tooling in their assigned areas. The incumbent is responsible for keeping up to date on new manufacturing processes and methods, incorporating automation where feasible.
As a process owner the incumbent is responsible for managing the organizations QMS/EMS processes and related outputs. Process owners shall understand their roles and are competent to perform those roles as defined in QMS procedure 5.1.1.3 Process Owners Responsibilities.
Communication skills are extremely important to the position; written and verbal. Strong people skills are required to engage and sustain high-performing teams. Successfully collaborating with several departments and positions within the company is an expectation of this position. The incumbent works closely with assigned direct reports; motivating, supporting, coaching, and assisting, as necessary, to ensure daily operations run smoothly and due dates are met. Principal Accountabilities
1.Directs Manufacturing Engineers in project work related to Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma Excellence, scrap reduction, cost containment/reduction, and capital expenditures.
2.Oversees the design, validation and release of production tools, fixtures, jigs, and workstations, to improve safety, efficiency, reliability, profit, and ensures design and material specification are met. Leads teams in development of new processes, equipment installation, equipment design, software design and comprehension of PLC logic and APQP documentation.
3.Ensures that projects are developed and maintained within established scopes, budgets, and timelines.
4.Assists in the monitoring of government regulations (EPA, OSHA, etc) to ensure that systems and stations are in compliance with established standards.
5.Provide input on costs for cost-reduced products and sets manufacturing standards for existing processes and methods to establish production costs.
6.Research, plan, and propose new and better manufacturing methods assure return-on-investment by reducing labor and/or materials yet maintaining the ability to produce a quality product.
7.Oversees the planning, approval and implementation of equipment and processes systems to improve efficiency and profitability.
8.Ensures that the Manufacturing Manager is kept fully informed of matters that will have impact on their area of concern.
9.Ensures creation and maintenance of procedures and training for personnel who will operate newly installed or modified equipment according to approved procedures.
10.Maintains high degree of expertise on current and new technology in assigned areas.
