Key Responsibilities
- Perform endangered species habitat survey walkovers.
- Complete bat surveys using mist nets, acoustic detectors, and harp traps following the current Rangewide Guidance provided by the US Fish and Wildlife Service.
- Complete fish surveys using electrofish shockers and/or senses and dip nets using approved survey methods.
- Complete mussel survey using snorkeling and view-buckets.
- Complete stream assessments using the rapid bioassessment protocol (RBP) forms.
- Conduct wetland delineations.
- Familiar with Trimble systems, ArcGIS and Global Mapper.
- Prepare professional, economical, and accurate reports and technical studies.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of policies, regulations, and methodology required for ecology-related studies and reports.
- Must be able and willing to travel and stay overnight while completing project tasks.
- Seeks new training and technology required for project development and meeting client’s standards for conducting work.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental-related field.
- Federal Bat Permit desired, but not required.
- Must maintain a valid, current driver’s license.
- Up to date on pre-exposure rabies vaccinations or willingness to obtain vaccination.
