We are looking specifically for a full-time Veterinary Assistant who has OPEN availability Monday-Saturday.
Veterinary Assistants partner directly with veterinarians to deliver the highest standard of care. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, critical thinker who thrives in a fast-paced setting, remains calm under pressure, and is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of patient care. Strong communication skills and a passion for both animals and people are a must.
Key Responsibilities:
· Comprehensive patient assessments and physical examinations
· Anesthesia monitoring for surgical and diagnostic procedures
· Surgical preparation and assistance throughout procedures
· Laboratory diagnostics, including sample collection and processing
· Venipuncture and IV catheter placement for fluid and medication administration
· IV fluid therapy and patient monitoring
· Urinary catheter placements
· Pharmacy responsibilities, including medication preparation and dosage calculations
· Post-operative and general patient recovery support
· Compassionate, attentive care for hospitalized patients
· Safe and effective animal handling and restraint
· Administration of IM, IV, and SQ injections
· Dental cleanings and digital dental radiography
· Digital radiography for diagnostic imaging
· Nursing care and hospitalization treatments
· Clear, professional communication with clients,including educating them abouttreatments, procedures, and at-home care
· Provide additional support by being advocates for pet wellness, educates clients, and helps maintain a safe and efficient hospital environment

Working Conditions:
- Must be comfortable around all types of animals.
- Requires physical activity (lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, kneeling, etc.).
- Exposure to anesthesia, radiation, and controlled substances.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, up to 40 hours per week, as well as evening and weekend shifts, some holidays to support hospital operations.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High School diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of experience in a veterinary practice or equivalent animal care environment, with the skills necessary to excel in the duties listed above
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly to clients and medical team.
- Compassionate and empathetic demeanor, with the ability to remain calm, professional, and supportive during emotional or high-stress situations.
- Proficient in computer use and phone communication, including appointment scheduling and record-keeping.
- A true team player, eager to learn new techniques and treatments, contribute creative ideas, and embrace positive change.
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
