Trillium Professional is seeking a Seasoned Manufacturing Engineer with Stamping & Process Optimization experience in Baltimore, MD!

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer III with strong experience in metal forming, stamping, and/or heat treatment processes. This role is highly hands-on and shop-floor focused, with approximately 75% of time spent directly on the production floor supporting complex setups, process validation, and troubleshooting, and 25% focused on process design, scheduling, and engineering development. No travel.
The Manufacturing Engineer III will develop and improve manufacturing methods, apply lean manufacturing principles, and optimize production processes to improve quality, throughput, cost, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement manufacturing processes, methods, and controls to meet quality and cost objectives
- Troubleshoot production issues, reduce downtime, and resolve work-in-process challenges
- Evaluate process flow and plant layout; recommend and implement improvements to improve throughput and safety
- Support equipment installation, buy-offs, upgrades, and vendor coordination
- Develop and analyze cost and production data to support process improvements and decision-making
- Monitor operations to ensure compliance with quality standards and approved methods
- Develop manufacturing schedules and support production planning activities
- Create and maintain PFMEA and control plans
- Support part validation, trial runs, and process capability studies

- Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience in lean manufacturing, process improvement, and cell-based manufacturing environments
- Hands-on experience with production equipment setup, debugging, and optimization
- Ability to collaborate across all levels of a manufacturing environment
- Strong communication and project coordination skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- 5 years of experience in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment. 10 years of experience preferred.
- Strong preference for experience in stamping, metal forming, or heat treat processes
- Experience with production process development and manufacturing optimization required
Work Environment:
- Highly hands-on manufacturing environment with significant shop floor presence
- Regular exposure to production equipment and industrial conditions
- Collaboration with engineering, production, and maintenance teams
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent use of hands for computer and documentation work
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, and move throughout manufacturing areas
- Occasional lifting up to 10-20 lbs
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and via digital tools
