Duties/Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for exams, collect vital signs and health history, and document information in the electronic health record.
- Assist providers with medical treatments and procedures.
- Perform CLIA-waived point-of-care testing (e.g., urine collection, glucose testing).
- Schedule appointments and manage inventory of medical supplies.
- Ensure exam rooms are stocked and cleaned between patient visits.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support coordinated, patient-centered care.
- Demonstrate flexibility to optimize clinic operations and reduce patient wait times.
- Participate in orientation of new team members and quality improvement initiatives.
- Accurately document all clinical care in a timely manner.
- Adhere to all clinic procedures, maintain patient confidentiality, and uphold organizational policies.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills.
- Understanding of healthcare terminology and medical procedures.
- Proficient with time management, multitasking, and computer systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical Assistant training and certification preferred.
- Previous experience in an outpatient or inpatient healthcare setting required.
- Current CPR certification preferred.
- Experience working with chronic diseases or in community-based health settings is a plus.
