Purpose of Position: This position is responsible for leading and managing the manufacturing engineering team to optimize production processes and ensure product quality objectives are met. - Lead the development and implementation of manufacturing processes that optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to streamline workflows and enhance overall manufacturing capabilities.
- Lead the manufacturing engineering aspects of new product introductions, collaborating with engineering, change control, planning and production teams to ensure a smooth transition from design to production.
- Develop and implement manufacturing processes and innovative technologies to enhance efficiency, increase throughput and reduce production costs.
- Collaborate with production, quality, materials planning, and other relevant teams to address manufacturing challenges and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to align manufacturing engineering activities with organizational goals.
- Work with engineering leadership to assume and maintain the majority of sustainment engineering activities within manufacturing engineering team.
- Collaborate with the quality team to ensure that manufacturing processes meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
- Address and resolve any quality issues in collaboration with relevant teams.
- Provide ongoing mentoring and professional development opportunities for team members.
- Maintain accurate records of manufacturing processes, procedures, and improvements.
- Generate regular reports on manufacturing performance, efficiency gains, and cost savings, as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in manufacturing engineering.
- Strong understanding of sensor components, manufacturing processes, and industry regulations.
- Proficient in using engineering software and tools.
- Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or equivalent experience, preferred.
- Physically able to lift up to 20 pounds (materials/equipment)
- Effective use of computer, laptop, cell phone and other mobile device to exchange information.
