Trilab Health is seeking a highly dependable, flexible, and patient-focused Mobile Phlebotomist / Float Phlebotomist to support our growing operations throughout the Chicagoland area.

This is a critical operational role responsible for providing phlebotomy coverage across multiple client locations, assisting with same-day staffing needs, and ensuring uninterrupted patient services when scheduled phlebotomists are absent or when additional support is required.

The successful candidate will report to Trilab Health's Elmhurst headquarters and spend approximately 90% of their time traveling between healthcare facilities, treatment centers, physician offices, and client sites. Because this position serves as a key coverage resource, reliability, punctuality, and flexibility are essential.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, driving between locations, meeting new patients, and making a direct impact on healthcare operations.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Specimen Collection

  • Perform venipuncture, capillary collections, urine collections, and other specimen collection procedures.
  • Verify patient identity and accurately complete all required documentation.
  • Ensure specimens are labeled, processed, stored, and transported according to laboratory protocols.
  • Maintain excellent patient care standards while creating a positive patient experience.
  • Follow all OSHA, HIPAA, CLIA, and company compliance requirements.

Mobile Coverage & Operations Support

  • Travel daily to multiple client locations throughout the Chicagoland area.
  • Provide coverage for call-offs, PTO requests, staffing shortages, and emergency operational needs.
  • Serve as a float resource across Trilab Health client accounts and facilities.
  • Respond professionally to last-minute schedule adjustments when operationally necessary.
  • Maintain communication with supervisors regarding arrival times, site issues, and operational concerns.

Client Relations

  • Represent Trilab Health professionally at all client facilities.
  • Build positive working relationships with nurses, facility administrators, physicians, and healthcare staff.
  • Escalate client concerns and operational issues promptly to management.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism at all times.

Administrative & Compliance Duties

  • Maintain inventory of supplies and notify management of shortages.
  • Participate in required trainings and competency assessments.
  • Ensure company vehicles (if applicable) and equipment are maintained appropriately.

  • Cover multiple facilities in a single day.
  • Travel extensively throughout the Chicagoland area.
  • Support urgent staffing needs.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Be assigned to different locations based on business needs.

Reliability and attendance are critical to success in this role. The ability to adapt to changing schedules and provide dependable coverage directly impacts patient care and client satisfaction.
