Work Schedule
- Part Time Varying Shifts - (24 hours weekly)
- Call is every 4th weekend (either Saturday or Sunday)
- Two holiday shifts per year
- Six week scheduling period with 3-4 nights of call during that time frame

Job Requirements
- Certification within specialty area within two years of assuming position.
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) ACLS/PALS may be required but is dependent on unit or department
- ECG interpretation competency and ACLS certification within 12 months of assuming role. Maintains ECG competency and ACLS certification while in role.
- Registered Nurse licensure required
- Knowledge, judgment, and skills derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to meet complex health care needs at various stages of the life cycle
- Minimum of 2-3 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Previous Charge Nurse experience strongly preferred
- Coordinate delivery of patient care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Serve as a clinical resource to staff regarding standards of care, policies, and procedures.
- Identify actual and potential patient care problems and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Perform and oversee nursing technical and unit ‑ specific skills in compliance with TriHealth and unit policies.
- Accurately interpret and execute physician orders.
- Direct and delegate unit activities to ensure safe, clinically competent patient care.
- Facilitate effective communication with physicians and healthcare team members.
- Support patient flow through timely admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Assist with overall unit operations and adapt to rapidly changing workloads.
- Orient float, reassigned, and agency nurses to unit routines and shift expectations.
- Collaborate with instructors and students; assist with assignments and scheduling based on patient needs and staff competencies.
- Participate in unit and organizational committees and quality improvement initiatives.
- Promote evidence ‑ based practice through review and implementation of current research and best practices.
- Mentor, coach, and guide nursing staff; support continuing education and clinical ladder advancement.
- Provide feedback on staff performance and input for progressive discipline as appropriate.
- Demonstrate accountability, critical thinking, professional communication, and appropriate use of the chain of command.
- Act as a professional role model and foster collegial relationships across the healthcare team.
