Acute Care Technician - Med Surg Oncology
Full Time Day Shift - TriHealth Good Samaritan Hospital - $2.5k Sign-On Bonus!

Work Schedule
Many patients receive chemotherapy alongside other high-risk medications, making this a setting where attention to detail and multidisciplinary teamwork are vital. Nurses in this unit are empowered to provide comprehensive care while advancing their own expertise.
The Oncology Unit offers a flexible and supportive work environment, with 12-hour shifts and self-scheduling over a 6-week period. Staff follow a rotation of every third weekend and holidays, with options for day, night, and weekend-only shifts to accommodate varying needs.
New nurses begin their journey with a 6-week competency-based orientation led by experienced preceptors, tailored to the needs of each individual. This ensures confidence in caring for oncology patients and administering specialized treatments.
Day shifts operate with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5, while night shifts maintain a ratio of 1:5-6, providing a balance of efficiency and support. - 6:30am - 7:00pm
- Every 3rd weekend rotation
- Holiday rotation

Job Requirements
- 2 years High School Education
- Age 17 with work permit
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Reading and math ability appropriate to the position
- Experience as an STNA, PCA or ACT strongly preferred
- Performs and documents basic patient care tasks under RN supervision; maintains competency in trained skills, completes assignments on time, and seeks clarification when needed.
- Maintains a safe, clean environment by reporting hazards, following Infection Control policies, completing safety event reports, and adhering to safety and emergency procedures.
- Communicates effectively and respectfully with patients, families, and team members; reports patient information and assignment issues promptly; documents observations accurately; collaborates with the healthcare team and uses the chain of command appropriately.
- Supports unit operations by performing supply, equipment, and environmental tasks; reports shortages or equipment problems and ensures supplies/equipment are ready for the next user.
- Demonstrates accountability and commitment to self ‑ growth; identifies areas for improvement and supports organizational and unit changes.
