What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Registered Nurse for ED position at TRIGG COUNTY HOSPITAL INC?
Essential Functions:
- Performs triage by collecting current information, as well as a detailed patient history and determine priority of care based on physical, psychological and social needs, using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI), triage level system.
- Performs patient care and patient care procedures, including IV therapy, wound cleansing and dressing, immobilizations, medication administration and assessments, reassessments and discharge education.
- Manages basic life support needs and stabilizes the patient until seen by the provider, based upon nursing standards and protocols
- Provides any and all ACLS/PALS interventions
- Works directly under physicians, assisting with exams, diagnostic testing and treatment
- Documents on the EMR systems, appropriately and completely on patients.
- Delegates tasks to Paramedics, LPNs & CNAs, as needed
- Communicates and collaborates with other staff members, patients, family/visitors and other departments within the hospital
- Any and all other duties assigned by Nurse Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Associates or Bachelor’s in Nursing from an accredited nursing school
- Licensure in Kentucky or Compact State License
- BLS, ACLS, PALS. TNCC preferred or required within 1 year of employment.
- Experience: Two years minimum experience in ED required

- Complete annual education requirements and attend annual mandatory skills fair
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
- Report to work on time and as scheduled
- Maintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and local regulations
- Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times
- Comply with all organizational policies and standards regarding ethical business practices
- Communicate the mission, ethics and goals of the organization
- Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities
- Attend staff meetings and in-services
Salary : $65,970 - $86,589
