Medical Admin Assistant for TCPrimary Care

The purpose of the Medical Administrative Assistant at Trigg County Primary Care is to work closely with all patients/responsible parties in the scheduling and processing of appointments, maintenance of patient medical record documentation, addressing patient calls and questions, and directing patient flow into the waiting rooms. Completing all aspects of patient, family, visitor and co-worker interactions in a positive, effective, and professional manner, following best practices in the field of Primary Care. May assist with other business-related functions as assigned to include assisting providers to complete patient referrals, to process prior authorization requests, and manage patient billing and payment services.

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Greet patients entering and exiting clinic for services
• Register and process patients prior to visit
• Ensure follow-up appointments are scheduled
• Answer phones and address caller questions/needs as appropriate
• Confirm insurance and key demographic information
• Enter information into patient record
• Ensure incoming patient medical records are processed and incorporated into the patient medical record
• Assist as assigned with other business functions related to patient processing and billing

QUALIFICATIONS: It is preferred that candidates have previous experience in medical office setting

Licensure / Certification / Registration: None identified.

Education: High School Diploma or GED required

Experience: The following experience is preferred:

• Experience and skill utilizing computer programs (i.e. Word and Excel) and electronic health records
• Experience answering and managing multiple phone calls and activities occurring simultaneously.
