Dupont Schedule: Rotating (days/nights) 12hr shifts with some weekends.
Title: Catbridge Operator Assistant
Functional Area: Slitting Department
Reports to: Shift Supervisor
Position Description: The primary purpose of the role is to assist with the operation of the highly automated Catbridge Slitting Machine. The primary assistance is the packaging of the rolls as they are produced.
Catbridge Operator Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for assisting the Catbridge Operator with any machine issues and changeovers
- Operation of Catbridge machine to meet all quality and production standards, minimizing scrap and downtime. Perform all material loading and machine adjustments required for changeovers.
- Gathering and loading all supplies and raw materials into the machine and the packaging of finished rolls as detailed in the shop order specifications.
- Ensuring that labeling, packaging, and palletizing of all rolls produced on their shift meets all quality standards.
- Ensuring that all safety devices are functioning properly, and all safety procedures are followed.
- Ensuring loading of cores into and the proper operation of the automatic core cutter to provide cores to the Catbridge machine.
- Performing First Article Inspections for other Operators and ensuring that other Operators perform a FAI on your changeovers.

- Leading housekeeping efforts and always maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Identifying and immediately communicating personnel and safety issues to the Shift Supervisor and assisting with investigations and resolutions of the issues if needed.
- Communicating and working with Material Handlers to ensure an appropriate quantity and quality of raw materials is delivered to the machine as needed.
- Performing quality checks on material, comparing actual results to specifications, and communicating results in a timely manner.
- Accurate and complete reporting of production and quality data both manually and in computer systems.
- Reporting any continuous improvement opportunities to the Shift Supervisor.
Preferred Requirements:
- Excellent safety and attendance record.
- Possesses good problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work 12 hour rotating day and night shifts, and report on time for scheduled shifts and follow company attendance policies.
- Possesses strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Possesses basic knowledge in math, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
- Possesses basic computer skills.
- Understands production rates and production schedules.
- Ability to balance and achieve results in the areas of Safety, Quality, Productivity and Cost Reduction
- Must have the ability to complete two or more tasks simultaneously.
- Self-motivated and able to work with little or no supervision and maintain a working and up-to-date knowledge of products and services.
- Must be able to handle self in a professional manner with co-workers and supervisors.
- Ability to take responsibility for self and team.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to continually bend, stoop, crouch, reach above shoulder, use arms, wrists, grasp and squeeze with hands, access constricted spaces, and lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
- Must be able to withstand occasional exposure to dusty or dirty ambient conditions.
- Must be able to withstand occasional exposure to hot or cold ambient conditions.
- Must be able to withstand occasional exposure to mild chemical irritants.
- Excellent forklift skills with the ability to safely move pallets of material into storage racks.
- Ability to use an overhead crane to safely move products and machine parts with no damage.
Training:
- Training would be a mixture of online training on safety, quality, and production procedures along with on-the-job training conducted by an experienced Catbridge Operator.
- Additional training would be provided as needed by other Catbridge Operator Assistants.
- Training duration would normally be 1 week.
