Role Description
This is a Protection & Event Security Officer role located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. An Active Colorado Springs Guard Card is REQUIRED for consideration.
Officers will be assigned to high-visibility events and VIP protection details, operating in a structured, team-based security environment. This role requires professionalism, strong situational awareness, and the ability to operate within layered security operations including:
- Close protection (executive/VIP coverage)
- Access control and controlled entry points
- Surveillance monitoring and radio coordination
- Crowd management and threat detection
- Interior and exterior patrol operations
- Rapid incident response and de-escalation
- Backstage/restricted access enforcement
- Emergency evacuation support and coordination
Officers must be comfortable working in dynamic environments with large groups of people, while maintaining a calm, professional presence under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide close protection coverage for designated VIP(s)
- Maintain secure perimeters and controlled access points
- Monitor surveillance systems and radio communications
- Conduct interior and exterior patrols
- Identify and respond to suspicious behavior or threats
- Enforce no-entry/restricted access zones
- Assist with crowd control and event flow management
- Support emergency response and evacuation procedures
- Complete detailed activity and incident reports
Minimum Qualifications
- Active Colorado Springs Armed or Unarmed Guard Card (REQUIRED)
- US Citizen or Naturalization Card Holder
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods
- Strong communication and report writing skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress environments
- Ability to monitor surveillance systems and respond to incidents
- Ability to pass background check
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Own duty gear required (duty belt, firearm, handcuffs, flashlight, OC spray)
Highly Qualified Candidates
- Prior Executive Protection / Close Protection experience
- Experience working events, large crowds, or high-profile clients
- Military or Law Enforcement background
- Experience with access control, detainments, or investigations
- Familiarity with radio communication protocols and coordinated team operations
- EMT, First Aid, or CPR certification
- Associate’s Degree or higher
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
