Collections Specialist
Travel Resorts of America is seeking a motivated, customer-focused Collections Specialist to join our Collections Department. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping customers, solving problems, and communicating professionally while working in a fast-paced environment.
The Collections Specialist is responsible for contacting members regarding past-due accounts, assisting with account inquiries, resolving billing concerns, and providing excellent customer service. The successful candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling a high volume of phone interactions while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
Key Responsibilities
- Contact members regarding past-due accounts and provide account assistance.
- Handle inbound and outbound calls in a professional and courteous manner.
- Respond to member inquiries related to account balances, billing, and payment arrangements.
- Research and resolve account disputes, billing concerns, and customer complaints.
- Document account activity accurately and maintain detailed records.
- Process account adjustments, refunds, and other account-related transactions as appropriate.
- Investigate customer concerns thoroughly to determine appropriate resolutions.
- Maintain knowledge of company policies, procedures, and membership programs to provide accurate information.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while meeting departmental goals and performance expectations.
- Perform administrative and clerical duties as assigned.
- Support other departmental projects and responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Prior experience in collections, customer service, call center operations, account management, or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic math proficiency and attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and general computer operations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a team-oriented mindset.
- Professional, dependable, and customer-focused approach.
- Available 1 Saturday a month in rotation with other Team Members
Preferred
- Experience in collections, accounts receivable, customer retention, or billing support.
- Experience handling difficult conversations while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
