About the Job
Trident is looking for a 1st shift Automation Technician to join our team at our rapidly growing company. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail. This is a permanent, full-time position, offering a competitive pay and benefits package. Hours are M-F from 7:30am to 5:00pm.
Description of Duties:
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on assembly machinery and equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical issues with assembly equipment using schematics, documentation, and diagnostics tools.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying root causes of downtime and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to install, modify, and optimize assembly equipment.
- Assist Automation Engineer in build of custom automation.
- Assist Automation Engineer in debug of automated equipment and assembly fixtures.
- Coordinate maintenance activities cross departmentally.
- Identify and correct gaps in machine maintenance programs.
- Interact with and monitor outside service vendors.
- Coordinate, install, and commission new assembly equipment.
- Other duties as directed by supervisors.
Job Tasks:
- Maintain and optimize assembly equipment.
- Coordinate, prioritize, and deconflict maintenance and automation activities.
- Work in tandem with Automation Engineer.
Minimum Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Basic mechanical fabrication, wiring, and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with sensors, actuators, pneumatics, and motor drives.
- Basic understanding of PLC driven automation.
- Proficiency with standard diagnostic, hand, and power tools
- Proficiency with basic administration and administrative software.
- 1 year related maintenance/automation experience or equivalent technical or military training.
- Strong attention to detail and sense of accountability
Minimum Physical Requirements:
- 20/20 vision (with or without correction)
- Ability to use hands 100% of the workday
- Ability to stand and walk 100% of the workday
- Ability to hear and speak 100% of the workday
- Ability to handle 50 pounds when necessary
- Ability to work in shop environment – continual exposure to potentially hazardous machines and equipment, and loud noises.
