Job Title: Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Technician
Location: Madison, WI
Pay Rate: $28.00/hour (Base) Shift Differential
Duration: 12 Months (Extension possible)
Shift Availability & Differential
- Shift B: Open (10% differential)
- Shift C: Open (10% differential)
- Shift D: Open (14% differential)
- Shift A (Day Shift): No openings
Shift differential applies from Day 1 in addition to base pay.
About the Role
- We are seeking a Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Technician to support cGMP production of APIs and intermediates. This role involves operating production equipment, following strict safety and quality standards, and working in a multi-shift manufacturing environment
Key Responsibilities
- Follow and promote all safety protocols and proper use of PPE
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of production areas and equipment
- Execute tasks using batch records and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Operate production equipment for manufacturing, cleaning, and maintenance
- Function as a primary or secondary operator in cGMP production
- Communicate production status effectively during shift handovers
- Identify and resolve safety or process issues from inspections and audits
- Collaborate across shifts to ensure continuity and quality of operations
- Support additional departmental tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related Life Science
- OR High School Diploma/GED with relevant work experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in pharmaceutical, chemical, or manufacturing environments
- Ability to read and follow written protocols and procedures
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, etc.)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate production equipment
- Experience using hand tools and measuring devices
- Basic math and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Self-motivated with strong work ethic
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to work with potent and hazardous materials
- Ability to use PPE, including respirators, lab coats, and full-body protective gear
- Comfortable standing for long periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment
- Work performed in a regulated cGMP environment
